Senior Cloud Engineer - Azure
Key Responsibilities:
Cloud Infrastructure Design & Deployment
- Design, implement, and manage Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions.
- Build and maintain scalable and secure Azure Virtual Networks, VMs, Load Balancers, and Application Gateways.
- Deploy and manage Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments and FSLogix profiles
Automation & Infrastructure as Code
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, ARM Templates, Bicep, or Terraform.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
Cloud Security & Governance
- Implement Azure Policies, RBAC, Key Vault, and Defender for Cloud to maintain compliance and security.
- Manage identity and access using Azure AD and Conditional Access policies.
- Should be able to manage the Azure firewall with DNAT, Network, Application Rules and Policy
Monitoring & Optimization
- Configure monitoring and alerting using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and
- Application Insights.
- Perform cost management, right-sizing, and optimization of Azure resources.
Backup & DR
- Implement Azure Backup, Site Recovery (ASR), and ensure disaster recovery readiness.
Operations & Support
- Provide L3/L4 support for Azure workloads and hybrid environments.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and network issues in Azure.
Collaboration
- Work closely with architecture, security, and application teams to ensure successful cloud adoption.
- Document technical procedures, diagrams, and best practices.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Experience: 7–12 years of overall IT experience with at least 5-7 years in Azure cloud engineering.
Technical Expertise:
- Azure Compute, Networking, Storage, and Security fundamentals.
- Azure Active Directory, Azure Firewall, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, and VNet peering.
- Automation with PowerShell, Terraform, or ARM/Bicep.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Backup and DR using Azure Backup and Site Recovery.
- Monitoring and cost management using Azure Monitor and Cost Management tools.
- Familiarity with hybrid environments (on-prem to Azure migration).
Preferred:
- Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and SQL Server in Azure.
- Exposure to containerization and PaaS offerings.
- Knowledge of governance frameworks (CAF, Well-Architected Framework).
Certifications:
Certifications (preferred):
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)
