ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM:

The Airport Lifecycle - Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing systems' operational efficiency. This role will focus on deployment automation and system optimisation, ensuring consistent performance and reliability.

The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills and a strong desire to implement scalable, sustainable technological solutions. Part of the scope includes a close working interlock with development, operations, and IT teams to automate and optimize our systems, ensuring they are highly available, performing, and resilient.

WHAT YOULL DO:

  • Responsible for performing end-to-end lifecycle management of VMware infrastructure, including planning, deployment, maintenance, upgrades, and decommissioning.
  • Manage and maintain the VMware Platform in Central Processing (Private Cloud) and the Distributed environment.
  • Gather and analyze metrics from operating systems as well as applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding
  • Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and execute pipeline optimization
  • Collaborate and partner with development, engineering and Operations teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures
  • Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning
  • Ensure high availability and performance of VMware infrastructure through proactive monitoring and capacity planning. Automate routine tasks and create tools to improve team efficiency and system robustness
  • Analyse system performance and recommend improvements to ensure optimal utilisation of VMware resources.
  • Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service-level objectives
  • Participate in post-incident reviews to prevent recurrence and refine the system reliability framework.

    • Qualifications

    ABOUT YOUR SKILLS

  • 1-2 years of experience with VMWare vSphere environments, including ESXi, Hypervisor layer, vCenter, NSX-T and associated VMWare products with respect to configuration, management, and troubleshooting.
  • 1-2 years of experience in managing and operating Cloud environments, specifically Azure and AWS, with an understanding of Landing Zone Architecture.
  • Familiarity with SDWAN and MPLS-based WAN communication environments and related management, troubleshooting, and configuration tasks.
  • Experience beyond simple scripts, in languages such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, etc.
  • Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse system logs and data.
  • Competence in using Cloud services for deploying, scaling and managing applications and infrastructure (Public and Private Cloud)
  • Bachelors degree in computer science or related discipline

    • NICE-TO-HAVE

  • VMware or Windows/Linux, Cisco certification a plus.
  • Experience or understanding of CI/CD pipelines and Terraform.
  • Knowledge of Versa
