Job Description

This is a remote position.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Platform Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will design, develop, and optimize scalable backend systems using a modern tech stack. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work closely with product and cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance, resilient, and secure systems that power our core platform systems. Your expertise in distributed systems and cloud-native technologies will be essential to the success of the team and the business.

• Backend System Design and Architecture: Lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance backend systems with a focus on reliability and maintainability.
  
• Backend Development: Build and maintain REST APIs and microservices using Python, leveraging the FastAPI framework, to integrate with various external systems and services.
  
• Messaging and Streaming: Work with Apache Kafka or Pulsar for building reliable, real-time data streaming pipelines and message-driven architectures.
  
• OLAP & Data Management: Develop solutions utilizing OLAP databases like StarRocks to support fast, analytical queries over large datasets. Optimize data ingestion and processing pipelines for high performance and low latency.
  
• Non-Relational Databases: Design and manage non-relational databases such as MongoDB, handling schema design, query optimization, and scaling issues to ensure performance at scale.
  
• Cloud Infrastructure: Utilize AWS for deploying, scaling, and managing cloud resources, including EC2, S3, Elastic Beanstalk, EKS, and other managed services.
  
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Implement infrastructure automation, ensuring consistent and scalable deployment of environments.
  
• Containerization and Orchestration: Leverage Kubernetes for deploying, managing, and scaling containerized applications in a cloud-native environment.
  
• Collaboration & Mentorship: Work closely with junior developers and provide technical leadership and mentorship on best practices, code quality, and system design principles.
  
• Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the evolution of engineering processes and practices, focusing on improving system performance, security, and efficiency.
  

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  
• Experience: 3+ years of experience in R&D architecture and integration
  
• Strong proficiency in using web frameworks such as Flask, Django, or FastAPI to build and maintain RESTful APIs.
  
• Experience with distributed messaging systems like Apache Kafka or Pulsar for building real-time data streaming pipelines.
  
• Experience in OLAP databases (e.g., StarRocks, ClickHouse) and experience with high-performance data storage, querying, and analytics.
  
• Solid experience working with NoSQL databases like MongoDB or similar, with a focus on scalability and performance optimization.
  
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Elastic Beanstalk, EKS, etc.) and cloud-native application development.
  
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (such as Terraform), automating deployments and infrastructure management.
  
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and container orchestration using Kubernetes.
  
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills, particularly in distributed systems.
  
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and agile development practices.
