Full Description## Role Overview


The Bench Patternmaker is responsible for building high-precision dry sand pattern tooling used in the aerospace and defense industry. This role involves hands-on fabrication of foundry tooling using manual and CNC machinery, along with interpreting CAD models and blueprints to support efficient, high-quality metal casting production.


This position is open to candidates ranging from entry-level to highly experienced tradespeople who are willing to learn and develop specialized patternmaking skills.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operate manual machinery including table saws, band saws, drill presses, radial drills, lathes, grinders, and sanders


  • Utilize CNC machines and Bridgeport mills as required


  • Mix, pour, and mold plastics used in foundry tooling


  • Analyze part geometry using CAD models, blueprints, and precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers)


  • Identify parting lines, draft requirements, loose-piece needs, and optimal manufacturing approaches


  • Apply tooling design principles to improve foundry productivity and casting efficiency


  • Maintain a safe, organized, and quality-focused work environment


  • Participate in on-the-job training and skill development

  • Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship required


  • Ability to pass a background check


  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail


  • Knowledge of machining safety practices


  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn a specialized trade


  • Proven work ethic, integrity, and ability to collaborate in a team environment
