Reporting to:
CNC Programming Supervisor
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:- Review and process 3D CAD details and design blueprints.
- Create instructions/set-ups for machinists.
- Translate instructions into a computer automated manufacturing (CAM) program.
- Verify completed programs by running simulations.
- Analyze and select optimal tooling, speeds, and feeds.
- Optimize and improve processes continuously.
- Comply with all safety rules and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Relevant experience related to checking fixture and automation details.
- Previous experience operating 3/5-axis CNC machines as a machinist.
- CAD/CAM experience – SolidWorks, PowerMill, and PowerShape an asset.
- FCS and other standardized work fixturing knowledge an asset.
- Excellent reading comprehension skills.
- Problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Mechanically inclined.
- Ability to read blueprints and comprehend GD&T.
- Minimum High School diploma.
- Technical School Graduate or equivalent experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
