Reporting to:

CNC Programming Supervisor

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Review and process 3D CAD details and design blueprints.
  • Create instructions/set-ups for machinists.
  • Translate instructions into a computer automated manufacturing (CAM) program.
  • Verify completed programs by running simulations.
  • Analyze and select optimal tooling, speeds, and feeds.
  • Optimize and improve processes continuously.
  • Comply with all safety rules and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Experience:
  • Relevant experience related to checking fixture and automation details.
  • Previous experience operating 3/5-axis CNC machines as a machinist.
  • CAD/CAM experience – SolidWorks, PowerMill, and PowerShape an asset.
  • FCS and other standardized work fixturing knowledge an asset.
  • Excellent reading comprehension skills.
  • Problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Ability to read blueprints and comprehend GD&T.
Education:
  • Minimum High School diploma.
  • Technical School Graduate or equivalent experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
