Co-op Corporate Accounting

Overview

Emera Inc. is hiring for the position of Co-op, Corporate Accounting for the Summer term (May 4, 2026 - August 28, 2026) with our Corporate Accounting team. This 16-week work term will enable you to gain exposure to a corporate financial close process and experience with cross-affiliate transactions.

What you’ll do

• Perform full-cycle accounting duties, including journal entries and monthly bank/account reconciliations
• Prepare Stats Canada surveys and other filing requirements
• Prepare monthly intercompany billings, categorize charges for tax reporting, and complete related variance analysis
• Prepare Canadian corporate HST tax returns
• Assist with monthly HST return filings for multiple corporate entities
• Assist with other ad hoc requests from Corporate Accounting and other finance departments
