Job Description
Perform NYS building code inspections on construction projects within Region 7 at various state facilities, inclusive of correctional facilities. Be a resource for the region to answer code related questions. Issue field inspection reports detailing any code deficiencies observed. At the on-set of new projects, hold a coordination meeting with construction management staff to identify required inspection points during the course of the project.
* Two (2) years experience in code enforcement- / compliance-related work including conducting investigations, conducting research, and resolving complaints, concerns or conflicts.
* Ability to read, interpret, and explain City codes and site plans, maps, and work plans.
* Handle sensitive or stressful situations with tact and diplomacy; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; make presentations.
* Current state motor vehicle driver’s license required.
