Job Description

A well-established commercial general contractor in the Dallas–Fort Worth market is expanding its preconstruction team due to a strong and growing project backlog. We are seeking an experienced Commercial Estimator or Senior Estimator with true general contracting experience to support competitive pursuits and collaborative preconstruction efforts.

This role is not aligned with manufacturing, trade subcontracting, or supplier-side estimating. Candidates must have experience estimating projects from the general contractor perspective.

What You’ll Do



  • Prepare detailed, full-scope cost estimates for commercial construction projects


  • Lead or support preconstruction and bid strategy efforts


  • Perform quantity takeoffs, scope reviews, and subcontractor leveling


  • Collaborate with operations, leadership, and design partners


  • Evaluate drawings, specifications, and constructability


  • Support value engineering and cost optimization


  • (Senior level) Mentor junior estimators and assist with pursuit strategy


What We’re Looking For



  • 5+ years of estimating experience with a commercial general contractor (Senior Estimator candidates typically bring 8–10+ years)


  • Proven experience estimating commercial construction projects


  • Strong knowledge of full-scope estimating and preconstruction workflows


  • Experience with conceptual, schematic, and hard-bid estimates


  • Ability to work across multiple project types and sizes


  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills


Preferred Experience



  • Commercial sectors such as office, healthcare, hospitality, retail, industrial, or mixed-use


  • Preconstruction leadership or pursuit management (Senior level)


  • Familiarity with modern estimating software and takeoff tools
