Commercial Finance Analyst (West Branch)

Role Purpose

This role is a front-line execution role within Branch Commercial Finance, responsible for day-to-day financial operations, controls, and on-ground commercial execution for the Traditional Trade business.

The incumbent will ensure pricing accuracy, trade scheme execution, receivables discipline, distributor compliance, and clean financial closure, working closely with Sales and Branch teams to keep the business running smoothly and within governance.

Key Responsibilities (Execution-Led)

1. Trade Execution & Commercial Operations

  • Execute and validate approved GT trade schemes, discounts, and claims at distributor and customer level.

  • Ensure correct pricing, trade terms, and scheme mechanics are applied in the system.

  • Monitor scheme execution vs approval, flag deviations, and ensure timely corrections.

  • Support sales teams with day-to-day commercial queries related to pricing, claims, and payouts.

  • 2. Distributor Finance & Receivables Execution

  • Execute credit limit checks, blocks/unblocks, and customer master hygiene.

  • Track distributor receivables, overdue balances, and deductions on a daily/weekly basis.

  • Coordinate with Sales, Credit, and distributors to close open items and disputes.

  • Ensure timely collections and adherence to credit and cash discipline norms.

  • 3. MIS, Reporting & Month-End Execution

  • Prepare and circulate branch MIS, including sales, trade spend, receivables, and scheme trackers.

  • Execute month-end activities: accruals, provisions, reversals, and variance explanations.

  • Support customer, distributor, and territory-level reporting with high data accuracy.

  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of reports to Central Finance and Controllers.

  • 4. Controls, Compliance & Hygiene

  • Execute internal control checks on trade spend, claims, and receivables.

  • Maintain clean balance sheet items, including advances, provisions, and open claims.

  • Support audits by providing data, explanations, and documentation.

  • Ensure strict adherence to Mondelez finance policies, SOX, and approval matrices.

  • 5. Stakeholder Coordination (Execution Support)

  • Work closely with Branch Sales, Sales Ops, and Distribution teams for smooth day-to-day operations.

  • Act as the first point of contact for branch-level commercial execution issues.

  • Escalate risks, delays, or non-compliance proactively to the Branch Finance Manager.

  • Qualifications & Experience

    Education

  • CA Inter / CMA / MBA/BCom (Finance) preferred

  • Experience

  • 2–5 years of experience in Branch Finance / Sales Finance / Commercial Operations

  • Strong exposure to Traditional Trade (GT) execution is preferred

  • FMCG / Consumer Goods background strongly preferred

  • Skills & Capability Requirements

  • Strong understanding of GT trade mechanics, distributor working, and receivables processes

  • Hands-on experience with trade execution, claims processing, and credit control

  • Working knowledge of SAP (preferred) or similar ERP systems

  • Strong Excel and data handling skills for execution-oriented MIS

  • Ability to work under pressure with tight timelines and multiple stakeholders
