Job Description

We are looking for an experienced SME / Commercial Insurance professional with strong hands-on expertise in RFQ preparation, underwriting coordination, pricing negotiations, and client advisory. The candidate should have worked with a General Insurance Broker or General Insurance Company in India and be well-versed with commercial insurance products.

Key Responsibilities

Preparation and management of SME / Commercial RFQs (Property, Fire, Marine, Engineering, etc.)

Coordination with insurance companies for quote procurement, negotiations, and finalization

Ensuring correct rating based on:

Occupancy & risk profile

Discounts & loadings

Add-on covers & extensions

Negotiating competitive terms, conditions, deductibles, and premiums

Explaining coverage, exclusions, and policy terms clearly to clients

Drafting / reviewing policy wordings, special clauses, and endorsements to ensure adequate coverage

Liaising with insurers for risk acceptance, referrals, and underwriting clarifications

Supporting sales team with technical inputs and placement strategy

Required Skills & Knowledge

Strong understanding of commercial insurance products and underwriting practices

Ability to interpret policy wordings and coverage gaps

Excellent negotiation and communication skills

Hands-on experience with SME / mid-market commercial risks

Client-facing experience with professional advisory mindset

Knowledge of Indian insurance market & insurer underwriting appetite

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience

Must have worked with:

A General Insurance Broker, OR

A General Insurance Company (Commercial / Underwriting / Corporate Desk)

Graduation mandatory (Insurance / Risk Management qualifications preferred)
