Our solutions include solar PV, energy storage, EV infrastructure, and integrated system components tailored to commercial and industrial (C&I) clients.


We are seeking experienced Commercial Solar Sales Contractors (1099) to generate qualified leads, build pipelines, and close profitable solar contracts.


Role Overview


As a Commercial Solar Sales Contractor, you will act as a trusted advisor to commercial clients, guiding them through the solar decision-making process—from initial outreach to signed agreement.
This is a performance-driven role ideal for sales professionals who thrive in autonomy and are comfortable managing multiple opportunities simultaneously.


Primary Goals & Objectives


Generate Qualified Commercial Leads & Pipeline



  • Identify and engage commercial prospects such as warehouses, office buildings, retail centers, manufacturing facilities, schools, and nonprofits

  • Build relationships with developers, EPCs, and installers

  • Target key decision-makers including owners, procurement managers, CFOs, facilities managers, and energy managers


Close Profitable Solar Contracts



  • Convert qualified leads into signed commercial solar agreements

  • Ensure deals meet STS margin, feasibility, and financing requirements


Meet or Exceed Sales Targets



  • Achieve monthly and quarterly revenue, MW, or contract volume goals

  • Maintain a consistent and healthy sales pipeline


Represent the STS Brand Professionally



  • Serve as a knowledgeable, ethical advisor on solar, energy savings, and sustainability

  • Maintain transparent, compliant, and professional sales practices


Core Responsibilities


Lead Generation & Prospecting



  • Prospect via cold outreach, referrals, networking, local market research, and STS's existing lead database

  • Qualify prospects based on opportunity viability and pipeline criteria

  • Schedule site visits or virtual consultations as needed


Sales Process Management



  • Present commercial solar solutions using STS-approved product suppliers

  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop accurate proposals and system designs

  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and timelines within approved guidelines

  • Secure signed contracts and required documentation

  • Provide technical consulting across solar modules, racking, inverters, energy storage, and EV charging options

  • Close the sales cycle and ensure timely customer payments


Reporting & Administration



  • Track leads, opportunities, and deal status in Zoho CRM

  • Provide weekly pipeline updates, forecasts, and closed-deal reporting


Qualifications



  • Proven experience in commercial (C&I) solar sales

  • Strong understanding of solar PV systems, financing models, and commercial energy markets

  • Ability to prospect, qualify, and close independently

  • Comfortable working as a 1099 contractor

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills

  • Experience working with CRM systems (Zoho preferred)
