Job Overview:As a Commis Chef in our restaurant, you will play a vital role in the kitchen, assisting with food preparation, cooking, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of your workstation. This position offers the opportunity to learn and develop culinary skills under the guidance of experienced chefs.Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation: - Assist in the preparation of ingredients and mise en place required for various dishes. - Follow established recipes and portion control guidelines. Cooking and Presentation: - Under supervision, cook dishes and assist in ensuring they meet the restaurant's standards for taste, presentation, and consistency. - Plate dishes according to established procedures. Kitchen Organization: - Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including proper storage and labelling of ingredients. - Assist in daily and weekly kitchen cleaning tasks. Learning and Development: - Learn and absorb culinary techniques, methods, and recipes from senior kitchen staff. - Attend training sessions and take initiative to improve culinary skills. Quality Control: - Quality checks to ensure dishes meet the restaurant's standards. - Report any concerns or issues to supervising chefs. Assistance to the Kitchen Team: - Collaborate with other kitchen staff to support a smooth workflow during service. - Be responsive to directives from senior chefs and assist in various kitchen tasks as needed. Qualifications:- Previous culinary experience or culinary education is a plus.- Enthusiasm for learning and developing culinary skills.- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to follow instructions closely.- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment.- Good communication and teamwork skills.
