About the Role
Based in Wingfield and reporting to the CEO, the Compliance and WHS Manager ensures O’Neill Contracting meets all legislative, regulatory and internal compliance requirements across transport, construction and civil operations. The role oversees audits, WHS documentation, incident management and compliance programs, supporting operational teams to maintain high standards of safety, quality and operational integrity, including systems governed by the Heavy Vehicle National Law, Chain of Responsibility, and quality management procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Compliance, WHS & Quality Leadership: Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, WHS (WHS), Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL), Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and internal policies and provide compliance leadership across construction, civil and transport operations, including a growing heavy vehicle fleet.
- Auditing & Risk Management : Plan and conduct internal audits across worksites, fleet and operations.
- Site Engagement & Training: Maintain a strong on-site presence with regular site visits and work alongside operational teams to provide hands-on support and coaching, this includes the delivery of WHS, HVNL and Chain of Responsibility training
- Systems, Reporting & Continuous Improvement: Manage document control systems, SWMS, compliance registers, vehicle and fleet compliance records and prepare clear, data-driven compliance and audit reports for the CEO and management team
Skills and experience
- Strong transport compliance experience, including HVNL and Chain of Responsibility
- Proven experience in audits, incident management, risk control, and compliance reporting
- Experience across multi-site operations and fleet environments
- Confident, personable communication style with the ability to influence operational teams
- Experience with SWMS, document control, vehicle compliance, and quality management systems
