Compliance Officer

Our client is a leading global proprietary trading firm looking for a Compliance Officer to join their Compliance function in Mumbai, with a primary focus on trade surveillance and market conduct. This role is ideal for an experienced compliance professional with exposure to electronic trading environments and global regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily trade surveillance across multiple asset classes to identify potential market abuse, misconduct, or anomalous trading behaviour.
• Review, investigate, and escalate surveillance alerts, ensuring clear documentation and timely resolution.
• Support the design, calibration, and ongoing enhancement of trade surveillance scenarios and controls.
• Partner with trading, technology, and risk teams to understand trading strategies, products, and market structure.
• Monitor regulatory developments related to market abuse, trade reporting, and market integrity.

Requirements:

• 3 – 6 years of experience in compliance, trade surveillance, or market risk within a trading firm, investment bank, or similar environment.
• Strong understanding of market abuse regulations and surveillance expectations across global markets.
• Experience working with electronic or algorithmic trading systems preferred.
• Familiarity with trade surveillance tools and large datasets.
• Strong analytical, investigative, and communication skills.
• Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
