About The Role
We’re looking for a Compliance Operations Team Lead who is passionate about building high‑performance teams while balancing exceptional customer service and ensuring the security of our platform, strictly adhering to all regulatory and internal compliance.
You’ll lead a team of 7 to 10 support specialists, ensuring operational excellence and compliance adherence. This position prioritizes strategic execution and leadership over data collection.
Responsibilities
- Empower the Team: Mentor and develop a squad of 7–10 Compliance Operations Specialists, turning potential into high performance through consistent coaching and feedback.
- Turn Insights into Action: Analyze metrics to uncover root causes and drive data‑backed operational pivots.
- Scale the Operation: Identify friction points and build scalable workflows that remove bottlenecks before they become roadblocks.
- Bridge the Gaps: Act as the connective tissue between Compliance, Product, and Engineering to ensure our processes protect the business while delighting the customer.
- Lead from the Front: Foster a culture of ownership and learning, while being ready to jump into the queue or handle high‑stakes escalations alongside your team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, or related fields.
- 3+ years in a Compliance, Trust & Safety, or Risk Operations role, bonus points if in the Fintech, Tech or Startup environment.
- 1+ years in a people management role.
- Proven track record of managing SLAs in high‑volume queues (KYC, AML, Document Verification) without sacrificing quality or regulatory standards.
- Data‑driven mindset: use data to optimize team capacity, forecast volume, and identify fraud patterns. Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets is required; SQL is a plus.
- Familiarity with support platforms (Zendesk, Intercom) and Identity Verification tools (e.g., Veriff, Persona).
- Upper‑Intermediate written and verbal English.
- Comfortable operating in a high‑speed environment where regulations and fraud typologies evolve constantly. Stay calm when queues spike.
- Willing to handle escalations, review complex cases, and work occasional weekend shifts or on‑call rotations to support business‑critical operations.
- EQUIVALENT COMPETENCIES may also be considered.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary: $28,000 MXN gross per month + annual performance bonus.
- 100% remote work.
- Flexible PTO policy.
- Health insurance.
- Fast‑paced, high‑impact environment where your work truly matters.
- Opportunities to grow and lead as we scale across new markets.
