We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Computer Operator to oversee the efficient functioning of computer systems and networks within our organization. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth data processing, monitor system performance, and provide technical support to maintain operational continuity.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and operate computer systems, including servers, networks, and peripheral equipment.
- Manage batch processing, data backups, and system scheduling tasks.
- Identify and troubleshoot hardware and software issues promptly.
- Maintain system logs and prepare reports on system performance and incidents.
- Coordinate with IT support and other departments to resolve technical problems.
- Ensure the security and integrity of data and systems.
- Perform routine maintenance and updates on computer systems.
- Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a Computer Operator or similar role.
- Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows, Linux, or UNIX.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts and hardware.
- Ability to work in shifts and handle emergency situations.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
