Linum Consult’s client is a world-leading Tier 1 major global contractor: building, maintaining and operating on some of the world’s biggest infrastructure projects. Projects include major roads, rail, hydroelectric dams and renewable energy. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a highly knowledgeable Concrete Specialist to join their team in Paris, France.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing the Materials Lab within the company’s Research & Development and Innovation Department

  • Coordinating all research, development and innovation activities within the Materials Lab

  • Supervising the Materials Engineering Laboratory Manager and the Technical Assistance Manager within the Materials Lab

  • Participating in the development, validation, and deployment of the company’s concrete strategy in France and internationally

  • Contributing to securing, developing, and upgrading the skills and knowledge of the company relating to concrete technologies

  • Coordinating with the international concrete experts and teams to provide technical assistance where necessary
  • PROFILE

  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Materials Science from an accredited University, ideally with a PhD

  • 20 years’ experience in the construction industry, specialising in concrete materials, mix designs, and large-scale complex building structures

  • Strong knowledge of French construction standards, sustainability practices, and emerging technologies in concrete

  • Experience with low-carbon concrete innovations, alternative binders, and cementitious material research

  • Thorough understanding of Strength of Materials (SoM), including concrete, steel, and wood, and the experimental testing & SoM laboratories. Familiar with the processes associated with COFRAC certification

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with excellent analysis and communication skills

  • Fluent in French and English
