Construction Manager: Electrical- Substation

Location: Chennai

Experience: 10yrs to 16yrs

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, coordinate, and manage electrical construction activities at substation project sites (132kV/220kV/400kV and above).
• Ensure execution is in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality and safety standards.
• Supervise installation of transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, busbars, control & relay panels, earthing systems, and cabling works.
• Coordinate with design and engineering teams for clarification and implementation of drawings.
• Liaise with civil and structural teams to ensure smooth interface of electrical systems.
• Manage subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely execution and quality compliance.
• Monitor project progress and prepare daily/weekly reports for internal and client review.
• Ensure implementation of safety procedures and conduct regular site safety audits.
• Participate in testing and commissioning activities of electrical systems.
• Support documentation and handover processes, including as-built drawings, test reports, and QA/QC records.

Requirements:

• BE/BTech or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• 12 16 years of experience in electrical execution of substation projects (AIS and/or GIS).
• Sound understanding of substation electrical equipment and systems, including protection and control schemes.
