Responsibilities

+ Contribute to the planning, scheduling, and controlling strategy for assigned projects as guided by PMs/Principal Consultant, so that the approach taken in each case is effective and appropriate to the project needs and client requirements including setting standards and procedures, monitors and reports at project/portfolio level, prepare relevant project control dashboards for internal and external stakeholder communication.
+ Set up the baseline schedule and control procedures for assigned projects and monitor progress against the plan, so that any problems are recognised promptly
+ Assist Project Managers and Project Engineers with estimates and plans for bid/tenders.
+ Assist PMs/Principal Controller with producing the EAC and Report on progress and earned value, to support financial forecasting and any necessary corrective action

The major duties, tasks, and responsibilities are below:

• Provide functional input to projects, including where relevant leading the input of other planners/controllers, to ensure delivery is consistent and effective, meeting scope, time, cost and quality requirements.

Technical

• Demonstrable capability in Project Controls, and proven skills in the use of Primavera / Microsoft / other planning products (e.g. Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).

• Understand and has utilized Critical Path Analysis, Earned Value Techniques, and Basic project management skills.

• Advance level expertise in using MS Excel/ Word for developing tools and dashboards for internal and external stakeholder communications.

• Advanced knowledge of the philosophies, principles, practices & techniques of project controlling.

Preferred

• Exposure to UK Highways/Rail Industry and work experience in Highways/Rail projects.

People

• Experience to review the work completed by Junior controllers and ability to work in a team environment.

• Experience in working with international planning and project controls teams.

• Ability to work in a team environment.

• Possess the ability to work to tight deadlines and in changing environments.

Preferred:

Ability to supervise or guide junior controllers in the delivery of planning to time, cost and quality
