Content Ingestion Analyst: ProQuest Books

We are looking for a Content Ingestion Analyst for our metadata and media ingestion team in Chennai. As part of the team, you will be looking at quality processes within the Books group of ProQuest – a part of Clarivate. You will be part of a team of Book metadata professionals that completes data ingestion, quality assurance and customer support tasks related to curating our global Books content management system. 

About You

  • Must be a graduate or Post‑Graduate in any stream with a strong academic foundation.
  • Must have minimum 3 years of experience in publisher ingestion processes or related content workflows.
  • Must be Familiarity with bibliographic (biblio) content and metadata standards
  • Working knowledge of XML, schemas, and related technologies for content structuring

    • It would be great if you also have

  • Knowledge of or experience with librarian concepts, such as cataloging and subject classifications
  • Understanding of books metadata standards and their application in content workflows
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a global environment

    • What will you be doing in this role? 

  • Analyse and prepare files for ingestion using in‑house documentation and workflows, validate data in the content management system, including formatted text, metadata, subject terms, and other editorial enrichment.
  • Develop a strong understanding of book publishers and data providers involved in the marketplace
  • Handle exceptions in bibliographic information and ensure accuracy of ingested content
  • Edit and maintain book records (metadata) to align with standards and schemas
  • Ensure timely and accurate ingestion of content to support business and customer needs

    • About the team

    As a member of the Content Analyst team, you will work collaboratively with the Books Content Operations group that curates our comprehensive Books metadata repository, helping libraries, booksellers, publishers and other information professionals discover titles in the vast Books marketplace. The role will be based in Chennai location, India.

    Hours of Work  

    Full time; 9 AM to 6 PM IST (including 1 hour break)
