Control Room Operator - DCS (Saudi Arabia)

Eram Talent is looking for a dedicated Control Room Operator - DCS (Distributed Control System) to join our dynamic team in Saudi Arabia. As a key player within the Oil & Energy sector, your role will involve overseeing complex control systems used in refining and petrochemical processes. You will ensure optimal performance by monitoring, operating, and maintaining the DCS effectively while prioritizing safety and efficiency.

The Control Room Operator works in the control room to monitor all of the operations of the plants to ensure that everything is working properly. Control Room Operators control the creation and flow of electricity from power plants to other facilities within the complex.

The CRO is accountable for monitoring plant operations through DCS, fixing and trouble-shooting operations, tracking and logging operational systems, monitoring emissions and making recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate Distributed Control Systems (DCS) to ensure smooth and efficient production processes within the facility.
• Ensure a safe work environment by following company and industry safety standards, preventing incidents, and maintaining all required safety documentation.
• Monitor and control plant operations through DCS and other control panels to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation.
• Oversee and optimize site processes by remotely controlling equipment and coordinating closely with field operators.
• Communicate operating conditions and abnormalities promptly with field operators, shift supervisors, and engineering teams.
• Start, stop, and adjust equipment in accordance with approved operating procedures, alarms, and engineering instructions.
• Maintain accurate logs, reports, and shift handovers, ensuring continuity of operations and proper documentation of delays or curtailments.
• Support operations excellence by training personnel, coordinating utility services, participating in investigations, and implementing corrective actions in line with EH&S and best practices.

Requirements

• Diploma or High School Certificate.
• Experience in process plant operation, at least 5+ years plant control room operations experience.
• Track record of success on safety, health, and environmental protection.
• High leadership and supervisory skills; team player with the ability to work collaboratively.
• Positive, high energy, and self-motivated.
• Understands the operational mode of a controller – manual, automatic, cascade, setpoint of process variable, controller output, etc.
• Ability to multitask, perform under stressful conditions, and respond and adapt in changing conditions.
• Ability to read and comprehend equipment manuals and procedures.
• Ability to write and correct operational procedures.
• High level of proficiency of computers including Microsoft Office suite of programs, including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
