CFO

Company:
Dirty Cookie

About Dirty Cookie

Dirty Cookie is a fast-growing dessert brand known for edible cookie shot glasses and insanely good stuffed cookies. We operate across B2B, retail, foodservice, and corporate gifting, with production partners nationwide and ambitious growth plans. We're scaling quickly, which means finance matters here. A lot.

We're looking for a
Controller
who can bring structure, clarity, and calm to a complex, growing business without killing the soul of it.

The Role

The controller owns the financial backbone of Dirty Cookie. You will be responsible for accurate financials, clean systems, strong controls, and forward-looking insight that helps the CEO make better decisions. This is a hands-on role. You will build, not just review.

You'll be the person who knows the numbers cold and can explain them in plain English.

What You'll Own

Financial Reporting & Close

  • Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close
  • Produce accurate P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements
  • Ensure financials are timely, reliable, and decision-ready
  • Maintain GAAP-compliant accounting practices

Cash Flow & Forecasting

  • Manage cash flow forecasting and runway visibility
  • Monitor working capital, inventory financing, and vendor terms
  • Help the CEO anticipate cash needs before they become problems

Inventory & COGS

  • Oversee inventory accounting across multiple production partners
  • Track COGS by product, channel, and customer
  • Improve margin visibility and cost controls
  • Support pricing decisions with real data

Systems & Process

  • Own the accounting tech stack (QuickBooks or NetSuite experience preferred)
  • Improve processes around AP, AR, payroll, and expense management
  • Create scalable systems that can grow from $3M to $20M+ revenue
  • Reduce chaos without adding bureaucracy

Compliance & Controls

  • Manage tax filings, sales tax, and compliance requirements
  • Prepare for audits, lender diligence, and investor reporting
  • Implement internal controls appropriate for a growing company

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Partner closely with the CEO and operations team
  • Support fundraising, banking relationships, and lender reporting
  • Act as a strategic thought partner, not just a scorekeeper
  • Help translate numbers into action

Who You Are

  • 7–12+ years in accounting/finance, ideally in CPG, food, or manufacturing
  • Prior Controller or Senior Accounting Manager experience
  • Deep understanding of inventory, COGS, and multi-channel revenue
  • Comfortable in a founder-led, fast-moving environment
  • Detail-oriented but not rigid
  • Calm under pressure
  • Strong communicator who can explain financial reality without ego

You're not afraid to say, "This doesn't work," and you're equally comfortable saying, "Here's how we fix it."

Bonus Points

  • Experience with food manufacturing or co-packers
  • NetSuite implementation experience
  • Startup or scale-up experience ($2M–$30M range)
  • Experience supporting fundraising or debt financing

Why This Role Matters

Dirty Cookie is at a pivotal moment. Growth is happening. Complexity is increasing. This role will directly impact profitability, sustainability, and long-term success.

If you love building financial foundations for bold founders and brands with personality, this role will light you up.
