Are you an experienced Controller with a background in nonprofit finance? Our team at Robert Half is partnering with a reputable nonprofit organization in Elizabeth, NJ, seeking a skilled Controller for a contract role expected to last approximately 6 months. This role would be a hybrid onsite schedule in Elizabeth, NJ. Strong experience in nonprofit industry is required.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Oversee all nonprofit accounting functions and maintain accurate financial records
+ Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting regulations (e.g., FASB, GAAP, restricted funding, grants)
+ Collaborate with leadership on budget preparation, forecasting, grants management, and year-end audit support
+ Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
+ Manage and mentor finance staff, supporting day-to-day operations
