Job Description

We are seeking a Mid-level Network Engineer to provide comprehensive support for a mission-critical project. The role involves maintaining network hardware and software, monitoring network availability, and performing necessary maintenance. Responsibilities include developing new network designs, assessing management architecture, documenting configurations, and conducting testing. The candidate will support Linux-based systems, handle installations, upgrades, support, and troubleshooting, and must be a dynamic problem solver with the ability to tackle technical challenges.

Typical Responsibilities

• Implement X.509 Certificates, SSL, and Type 1 encryption
• Configure and troubleshoot networks, including VPNs, routing, and WAN connectivity
• Administer Unix/Linux/Solaris systems
• Develop scripts in Perl, Shell, JavaScript
• Manage IP services, routing protocols, application and connection services
• Design and modify network topologies, plan installations, and document configurations
• Evaluate and recommend IT solutions
• Travel within WMA and potentially to CONUS/OCONUS locations for installation, O&M, and troubleshooting

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or similar, with 6+ years of network engineering experience; 8+ years if no degree
• Experience establishing/troubleshooting VPNs, policy-based routing, Unix administration, VMWare, IPv6, remote management, scripting (Perl, Python, PowerShell), and networking protocols
• CCNA certification required; JNCIA/JNCIP preferred
