Responsibilities

  • Validate and monitor project and departmental costs, ensuring they are accurately recorded and aligned with approved budgets
  • Reconcile project costs with the general ledger and coordinate with AP for proper coding and documentation
  • Support Finance in understanding cost variances and composition by providing logical explanations and breakdowns
  • Ensure cost entries reflect the correct accounting treatment and flow properly through the financial statements
  • Assist in cost allocation and estimation for shared resources (e.g., labor, equipment) when needed
  • Work with engineers, project managers, and the accounting team to resolve cost-related queries, clarify scope vs. actual and ensure timely posting
  • Prepare regular reports on budget utilization and assist in cost tracking across active projects and departments
