JOB DESCRIPTION: Cost Engineer - Control & Automation Bodyshop

Information:
In the FPR/EA (Technical Cost Management Systems) department, you will be responsible for reference calculations (REC) for complex production plants Assembly and Bodyshop plant technologies in close cooperation with IPS Procurement and Production Planning PP.
The results of your detailed calculations flow into the module strategy for plant engineering as well as in our passenger car and powertrain new model projects as part of the system contract awards. They analyze technical and commercial cost center levers and address them to our plant suppliers.
This makes it a significant contribution to achieving cost targets for iur Organization. Cost-optimal investment technology is an essential lever for the competitiveness of our company.
Cost Engineer Responsibilities:
Strategic Cost Analysis & Optimization: Conduct comprehensive evaluations and analyses of Bodyshop Electrical & Automation equipments, as well as complex production facilities, to identify cost drivers, establish reference values, and optimize hardware and service costs.
Target Costing & Derivation: Create precise calculations to derive demanding and reliable target costs for Bodyshop equipment and reconcile costs for new services, components, processes, and technologies based on established reference values and manufacturing knowledge.
Advisory & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Provide expert technical and cost-optimization advice to Production Planning (PP) and International Procurement Services (IPS), actively engaging in supplier negotiations to secure significant cost savings for he Organization.
Supplier Market Intelligence & Negotiation Support: Monitor the supplier market for efficient plant design, new plant concepts, and manufacturing technologies. Leverage this intelligence to support Procurement in cost negotiations with suppliers.
Methodology & Standards Development: Develop and introduce new standards, methods, and procedures for cost engineering. This includes the determination of corresponding REC values for hardware and service scopes, along with their application and evaluation.
Project Leadership: Manage projects within the area of responsibility, ensuring successful delivery, quality, adherence to timelines, and driving innovation.
Degree and qualification:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/ Electronics/ E&TC Engineering / Mechatronics
· Experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Bodyshop domain from automotive industry with very good understanding of manufacturing processes.
Experience and specific knowledge:
· Total year of Exp - 5-9Yrs
· Min 5 Yrs Bodyshop Experience in OEM (VW, SKODA, Nissan, Hyundai, HONDA, etc…)
· Bodyshop – Process Technologies & Controls Equipment
· Costing- Determing Cost of various BOM required in Bodyshop.
· Knowledge on advance Plant techniques for better cost efficiency and throughput time.
· Knowhow of Equipments used in plants and their Suppliers
Domain Skills:
· Technical background in Body Controls equipment Planning and costing.
· Good hands-on Experience & Exposure to Costing of Equipment includes part or component , Technology Controllers, Automation Controls and bought out parts costing
· Sound technical knowledge of production processes and systems, especially their planning, development, construction and commissioning
· Extensive business knowledge, particularly of production facilities and the associated service calculations
· Knowledge of the main operational processes.
IT skills: Knowledge of MS-Office, Power BI
