Requirements Graduate from an accredited Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants program with an Associates Degree approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association. Licensed or certified by the state in which the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant resides or practices according to state requirements, and has received certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc. (NBCOT).
