Overview

Permanent Full Time. We are looking for a Legal Counsel, Workplace Benefits and Retirement . Reporting to the Managing Counsel, Workplace Benefits and Retirement, you will be a key member of the legal team providing support to our Canadian business units by providing practical, timely, and business‑focused legal advice on a wide range of issues, with a primary focus on group insurance/workplace benefits. You will work closely with legal professionals and business leaders on a wide range of matters arising across our various businesses, particularly within our group insurance operations.

You will bring several years of experience handling the following types of responsibilities within a large commercial enterprise:

• Researching, interpreting and applying Federal and Provincial legislation (knowledge of healthcare and insurance legislation and case law an asset)
• Drafting clear, concise legal advice, suitable for non-lawyers
