Our specialist training programs include our acclaimed Diploma of Counselling, Bachelor of Counselling, and Master of Counselling. All our programs are government and industry accredited.

Reporting to the AIPC Provost, the Course Coordinator – Counselling is responsible for coordinating and implementing the delivery and assessment of specific counselling higher education programs in accordance with approved Institute policies and requirements.

The main responsibilities of the position include:

Leading and coordinating the academic team to ensure high-quality delivery, teaching, and assessment of counselling courses, including workload planning and staff support.

Ensuringgovernance, compliance, and accreditation requirements are met, implementing academic policies, committee decisions, and contributing to registration and accreditation processes.

Maintaining teaching and assessment quality and integrity , achieving educational KPIs, overseeing moderation, benchmarking, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Overseeing course and subject development , ensuring curriculum, assessments, and learning materials align with approved outlines, timelines, and quality standards.

Supporting student success and engagement , including academic support standards, students-at-risk processes, appeals, academic misconduct resolution, and adjusted learning requirements.

Contributingto academic leadership and staff development , including induction, performance management, scholarly activity, reporting, and participation in institutional planning and initiatives.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A recognised PhD in Psychology, Counselling or a closely related field, or a Masters in Counselling with a PhD (75% complete).
  • Membership (or eligibility for membership) of a relevant industry association.
  • Academic experience and contributions representative of an Academic Level B.
  • Demonstrated teaching ability in relevant fields at an undergraduate and postgraduate level.
  • Demonstrated experience in the implementation and maintenance of academic administrative documentation and processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise, negotiate and collaborate with both internal and external parties.
  • Demonstrated scholarly activity in counselling and adult learning/teaching. Eligible for membership of a relevant industry association.
