Creative Development Lead (Gujrati)

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic creative development professional with proven expertise in concept creation and story development, concept screening, and writer management . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in screenwriting and content development, with a deep understanding of commercial and mass-market storytelling. This role requires balancing creative vision with platform strategy, while leading writers and collaborating with leadership teams to bring impactful stories to life.





Key Responsibilities

Concept Screening & Development

  • Evaluate story pitches, narrations, and concepts; provide first-level approvals in alignment with the Content Head & CCO.

  • Identify high-potential stories that resonate with audience preferences and commercial success parameters.

  • Collaborate with Creative Directors on shortlisted stories and ensure creative alignment throughout development.

  • lead the creation of in-house concepts and Proof of Concepts (POCs).

Content Strategy & Audience Focus

  • Understand the platform’s content vision and identify creative gaps.

  • Align storytelling with audience demand, ensuring focus on mass appeal and commercial viability .

  • Leverage insights from research and market trends to guide development decisions.


  • Develop in-house concepts and stories from internal ideas and insights.

Writer Management

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise in-house writers during story development.

  • Provide clear, constructive feedback to ensure high-quality output within timelines.

  • Build and sustain strong professional relationships with writers and creative partners.

Research & Insights

  • Collaborate with research teams to translate audience insights into compelling story ideas.

  • Stay updated on content trends (Culture, National, International), formats, and audience shifts to keep the platform ahead of the curve

  • Drive the development of new stories based on research briefs and audience needs.





Qualifications & Experience

  • 10-15 years of experience in screenwriting, content ideation, and development.

  • Strong portfolio of work as an OTT, TV, and film screenwriter and/or head of content development.

  • 4+ years of filmmaking experience (hands-on exposure preferred).

  • Proven ability to conceptualize, evaluate, and develop stories for large-scale audiences.

  • Deep understanding of commercial entertainment and audience psychology .

  • Sharp judgment in concept evaluation and selection .

  • Strong command over mass and commercial storytelling .

  • Leadership skills with experience in mentoring and managing writers .

  • Ability to provide constructive, actionable feedback aligned to the STAGE Content Stratgey .

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across teams.

  • Strong time management and adherence to deadlines (TAT)

  • In-depth Understand culture and market nuances
