Summary: Non-supervisory certificated USCG welder. Performs welding, brazing, cutting, fabrication and metal working as directed by ship captain.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The position requires an Ordinary Seaman MMC. Uses various welding equipment and materials to repair existing metal structures or fabricate new ones as necessary. Structures include ship hull, piping, pumps, winches, motors, shafts, weirs and metal superstructures. Must read simple plans, schematics or blueprints and use measurement tools such as squares, levels, tapes, electronic gauges and other tools to fabricate or repair with precision.
