RentBond® is a personal loan that helps renters fund their next move by covering the rental bond, two weeks’ rent in advance, and any other moving costs. What sets RentBond® apart is that we offer renters the ability to fully repay their loan within 21 days and incur no fees or charges. An industry leading offering that puts our renters first when applying for and securing a rental property. It has been in market for more than 10 years, helping almost 40,000 renters secure their next home via more than $85 million in loans.

What we’re looking for

Key focus areas

  • Conduct comprehensive credit risk assessments on loan applicants.
  • Develop and recommend credit scoring models and risk-rating frameworks to enhance decision‑making.
  • Analyse macroeconomic trends and industry risks that may impact credit portfolios.
  • Monitor early warning signs of potential defaults and recommend risk mitigation strategies (Bad debt analysis and reporting).

Data‑Driven Decision‑Making

  • Utilise data analytics to identify risk patterns and trends across the RentBond® portfolio.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to the credit committee on credit policies and risk appetite.
  • Ensure alignment of risk models with business objectives and regulatory guidelines.

Credit Policy & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to internal credit policies and external regulatory requirements.
  • Support the development and refinement of credit risk management frameworks and policies.
  • Ensure all lending activities meet industry regulations.
  • Perform regular updating of risk register, metrics and records.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of issues and incidents and provide support for control improvements.
  • Track and report credit portfolio performance, highlighting key risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Develop stress‑testing models to assess potential losses under different economic scenarios.
  • Recommend credit limits and risk exposure adjustments based on portfolio analysis.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with underwriting, finance, and collection teams to improve performance.
  • Present credit risk findings and reports to senior management and credit committee.
  • Engage with regulators as required.

You would see these as some of your key qualities

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field (master’s preferred).
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM, PRM) are an advantage.
  • Strong proficiency in financial analysis, credit modelling, and risk assessment tools.
  • Experience with statistical modelling, machine learning, or credit risk software is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of NCCP and industry best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment with cross‑functional teams.
