  • Start Date:  Monday 24/11/2025 3 month temporary position with potential to extend
  • Hours: Monday – Friday full time role (occasional Saturdays may be considered)
  • Location: Sydney CBD Based 
  • Rate: $40 per hour plus super 
  • Full working rights are required for this postion

THE COMPANY
Our client is a well established financial services organisation experiencing a significant increase in application volumes. They’re committed to responsible lending and delivering efficient and accurate decisions for customers. They are seeking an experienced Credit Underwriter who can support the team through a busy period and maintain high quality outcomes.

THE ROLE
As part of this role, you’ll dive into each customer’s financial profile assessing their position, spotting red flags, and helping shape informed lending decisions. Your balanced approach to risk analysis will help our client move forward with the most appropriate approvals.

DUTIES

  • Assess credit applications within your lending authority ensuring alignment with internal policies and risk parameters
  • Manage all parts of the underwriting process, including data verification, reviewing credit files and conducting relevant checks
  • Prepare clear, well informed recommendations on more complex applications that require senior approval
  • Review applications for potential credit or fraud concerns and escalate where needed
  • Ensure all assessments are completed in line with compliance obligations and regulatory requirements
  • Act as a key point of escalation between sales teams and application processing when additional support or clarification is required

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Delegated Lending Authority experience (DLA)
  • Previous experience in credit or lending within financial services
  • Familiarity with multiple steps of the credit approval process, including customer interaction where needed
  • Strong analytical skills and confidence in making balanced well informed decisions
  • Ability to work collaboratively and manage expectations with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience with Finpower is highly regarded
