CTL Operator - Afternoons

Secondly, you should bring years of experience in machine operating and the ability to read a tape measure. The rest? They can show you!What You Will Be Doing, as a CTL Operator:

Conduct daily inspections of CTL machine at the beginning of each shift.

Assist the main line operator in completing machine set-ups.

Use lifting equipment to move the correct material to the production line for each scheduled order.

Use cutters to remove the steel banding from the coil when it is loaded on the production line.

Use the controls at the operating station to feed the coil through the production line.

Assist in packaging material according to order specifications, set up the skids in place at the end of the line to collect the cut sheets.

Assist in banding the finished skid of materials, using steel banding and pneumatic hand crimping tools.

Participate in daily housekeeping to keep the work area clean and safe, by sweeping, tidying dirty rags, hand tools, etc.

Work in a safe manner at all times, adhering to company policies.

Other duties as assigned

What You Should Have, as a CTL Operator:

Minimum 1-2 years of manufacturing experience (Steel manufacturing is an asset)

Must be comfortable using hand and power tools.

Must be able to read imperial/metric measuring tape.

Good verbal communication skills

Be a team player and able to work well with others on the job.

In Return, You Will Receive:

$24.00 per hour, based on experience

Flexible work schedule – overtime available

Paid weekly, every Friday (1 week behind) 

Opportunity for permanent hire

4% vacation pay – accrued and paid out when you need it

Access to a Vertical Representative Monday to Friday 8am to 11pm and on weekends

The shift You Will Be Working is:

Monday to Thursday

2:45pm to 1:00am

Where You Will Be Working, as a CTL Operator:

Steeles Avenue & Highway 27 (Etobicoke)

Bus accessible for most, with a short walk to the worksite
