Custodial Assistant

Job Summary: Perform routine manual work in the custodial care ofUniversity buildings and surrounding grounds.

Responsibilities: 

  • Individual performs cleaning in campus buildings and their adjacent
    grounds.
  • Exposed to physical conditions such as daily motion activity, frequent
    lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling, and extensive hand coordination
    movement is required.
  • Follow simple, directed instructions under close
    supervision.
  • Ensure safety precautions are used when working with cleaning
    products and custodial equipment.
  • Spend 90% of work day indoors while the remaining
    10% is occasionally spent working outside.
  • Assist with cleaning areas with dust and odors present in the
    workplace. Assist with snow removal around buildings in winter.
  • Sweeping/dusting, emptying waste containers, assist in cleaning &
    maintenance of buildings & equipment. 

    • Qualifications: 

  • Current ESU Student.
  • No previous experience or training required.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull or carry 50lbs.
