We are currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with a passion for customer service to join the team at Bethanie Dalyellup aged care home located in Dalyellup, as a Customer Engagement Nurse (CEN).

Reporting to the Clinical Nurse Manager, the CEN partners with residents and their families or representatives from admission to discharge, coordinating the aged care experience and ensuring care and services are delivered in such a way that is safe and meets the individual customer’s goals, preferences and needs, enabling them to live the best life they can.

The CEN also works closely with the Clinical Nurse Manager to ensure all employees understand the resident’s individual needs, assisting in coordinating ongoing assessments and care planning.

  • 12 month fixed-term contract to cover parental leave
  • Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm work pattern

About You

  • Currently registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse
  • Extensive nursing experience in relevant areas including dementia, mental health, gerontology, and / or palliative care
  • The ability to understand the multiple, diverse individual needs of people and work collaboratively with stakeholders to reach mutually agreed upon decisions
  • Post-graduate qualifications (or working towards) in a clinical priority area desirable
  • Ability to work independently and professionally
  • Ability to motivate staff and promote a positive work environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to confidently use clinical information systems
  • Willingness to obtain relevant vaccinations
  • Current National Police Clearance (or willing to apply for one)

The Role

  • Engage with internal stakeholders, potential residents and families to facilitate preparation for admission
  • Welcome and support the resident and their significant other/s on the day of admission and in the settling into their new environment
  • Communicate the needs of all new residents and capture change of care needs of all residents to the multidisciplinary team and relevant stakeholders
  • Coordinate and assist with initial and ongoing assessment and care planning with the resident and their families or representatives, with respect to their individual goals and preferences, enabling them to live their best life
  • Ensure high quality clinical leadership, compliance and continuous improvement is achieved
