SMEC is looking for Dam Design Expert (International).
He / She should have a degree in Civil Engineering with post-graduation in structural/water resources engineering
Should have at least 15 years of experience in planning, designs as well as detailed engineering of dams and its appurtenances.
He / She should have worked in at least 5 large dam projects.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Nodal Expert for all design review matters after DTL and TL, review of all submitted PSTs and especially design aspects along with basic layout plans, review of proposed preliminary design of rehabilitation works and finalization of these plans for improving the PSTs for onward transmission to World Bank, review of all technical bid documents, bill of quantities vis-à-vis technical specifications for rehabilitation activities, need based design of major rehabilitation components to help DRIP IAs, estimate of cost based on item rate analysis or Scheduled of Rates (SOR), expert inputs for any physical modeling of any important structural invention, participation in CS&QA activities on behalf of CPMU as a third party CS&QA responsibilities, dam safety inspections, transmittals, capacity building of DRIP IAs, customized training programs at various levels for IAs, to be one of contributor in revision of existing guidelines, formulation of new guidelines, to give all inputs to be put in National Website for dam safety information, and MIS system , development of in-house expertise of select Academic Institutes, Training Calendar for design activities implementation, as well as customised training programs related to design aspects to be given for annual DRIP Calendar, need based inspection of DRIP dams, to accompany any central DSRP panels formed for any special safety issues, any other DRIP related activity assigned by Project Director DRIP, CWC, technical case studies to be presented in Annual Dam Safety Conferences, or any other international workshops/conferences through joint publication with
CPMU, CWC of such technical papers, preparation of Project Rehabilitation Reports (PRR), contribution in finalization of CS&QA Manual and Plan etc.
