Job Title: Data and AI Architect

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Enterprise Data architect to join our dynamic team at JLR TBSI. This role is pivotal in driving the modernization of our data ecosystem to enable data and AI-driven solutions that align with our strategic vision.

As a architect, you will be responsible for building, designing, developing, and governance of modern data platforms, ensuring seamless data transformation, transition from legacy systems to cloud-native architectures and management. You will define best practices for data modelling, ETL/ELT pipelines, orchestration, observability and governance, ensuring high-quality, trusted data for analytics and AI initiatives.

You will collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, AI/ML engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver cutting-edge solutions leveraging technologies such as GCP, Big Query, Dataflow, Airflow, Snowflake, and Generative AI. Your expertise will ensure that our solutions are scalable, secure, and future-ready, minimizing downtime and maximizing business value.

Architectural Leadership:

& ;& ;& ;& ;& ;& ;& ; Design, oversee, and refine a robust, scalable data architecture that supports advanced analytics, machine learning, and generative AI initiatives.

& ;& ;& ;& ;& ;& ;& ; Define and enforce technical standards, data models, and best practices across the data lifecycle.

  • Identify, design and implement process improvements in data pipelines. Automating manual processes, increase scalability, reduce run time and optimise cost.

Team Collaboration & Leadership:

& ;& ;& ;& ;& ;& ;& ; Guide and mentor a cross-functional team comprising data engineers, data scientists, AI/ML engineers, and data analysts.

& ;& ;& ;& ;& ;& ;& ; Collaborate with business stakeholders to align technical strategies with enterprise goals and ensure the data architecture supports strategic decision-making.

Technology Stack Optimization:

& ;& ;& ;& ;& ;& ;& ; Leverage technologies including GCP, BigQuery, Dataflow, Airflow, and Snowflake to design efficient data pipelines and workflows.

& ;& ;& ;& ;& ;& ;& ; Incorporate emerging Gen AI and machine learning tools to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.

Data Governance & Security:

& ;& ;& ;& ;& ;& ;& ; Implement Establishing data observability, quality, governance, and security frameworks to ensure data reliability, integrity, and compliance with regulatory standards.

& ;& ;& ;& ;& ;& ;& ; Develop monitoring and auditing protocols to manage data flow and accessibility across systems.

Project Management & Cross-Functional Integration:

& ;& ;& ;& ;& ;& ;& ; Oversee the end-to-end development and deployment of data-driven projects, ensuring alignment with timelines and business objectives.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Technical Expertise:
  • Experience in implementing and optimizing enterprise data layers, including data transition and transformation
  • Proven experience in designing enterprise data architectures and data systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services specifically BigQuery, Dataflow, and Airflow as well as Snowflake for data warehousing.
  • Knowledge of next-generation machine learning, generative AI, and modern data team toolsets (e.g., Python, SQL, container orchestration)

Professional Experience:

  • 8+ years in data engineering, analytics, or related fields with significant leadership responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated success in managing teams and projects in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

Analytical & Strategic Thinking:

  • Deep understanding of data modelling, data governance, and architectural best practices.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and drive consensus on data strategies.

Communication:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with both technical teams and business leaders.
