Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to design and implement robust data

solutions across our hybrid infrastructure environment. The ideal candidate will

combine deep technical expertise in Microsoft technologies with strong business

acumen and the ability to lead complex data initiatives from conception through

Delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Design

• Design and architect end-to-end data solutions leveraging Azure cloud
• services and on-premises Microsoft infrastructure
• Develop data architecture strategies that align with business objectives and
• technical requirements
• Create and maintain architectural documentation, data models, and technical
• specifications
• Establish data governance frameworks, standards, and best practices across
• the organization
• Evaluate and recommend modern data platforms, tools, and technologies
• within the Microsoft ecosystem

Technical Leadership

• Lead the design and implementation of data warehouses, data lakes, and
• analytics platforms using Azure services (Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Lake,
• Azure SQL Database, Azure Databricks)
• Architect hybrid data solutions integrating on-premises SQL Server
• environments with Azure cloud services
• Design scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Fabric Pipelines/Notebooks, Azure
• Data Factory, SSIS, and related technologies
• Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance across all data solutions
• Provide technical guidance on database optimization, performance tuning,
• and disaster recovery strategies

Project Management

• Lead data architecture projects from initiation through successful delivery
• Collaborate with project managers to define scope, timelines, resources, and
• Deliverables
• Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate project status effectively
• Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout project lifecycles
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including developers, analysts, and
• business stakeholders

Business Partnership

• Partner with business leaders to understand requirements and translate them
• into technical solutions
• Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders in
• clear, business-focused language
• Conduct architecture reviews and provide recommendations that balance
• technical excellence with business value
• Stay current on industry trends and recommend innovative solutions to drive
• business outcomes

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills

• 8+ years of experience in data architecture and engineering roles
• Expert-level knowledge of Azure data services including Microsoft Fabric,
• Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, and Azure
• Databricks
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server (on-premises) including
• database design, optimization, and administration
• Deep understanding of both cloud and on-premises infrastructure
• architectures
• Experience with data modelling techniques (dimensional, relational, NoSQL)
• Proficiency in SQL, T-SQL, and at least one programming language (Python,
• C#, or PowerShell)
• Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for data solutions

Project Management

• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex data projects
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously

Business & Communication

• Exceptional ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences
• Strong business acumen with experience translating business requirements

• Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate, Fabric Data Engineer
• Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Data Engineer Associate
• Experience with Power BI and the Microsoft analytics stack
• Knowledge of real-time data processing and streaming architectures
• Familiarity with machine learning and AI integration in data platforms
• Experience with cloud migration and modernization projects
• Background in specific industries relevant to our business
