Job Description:

We are seeking a hands-on Data Center Technician to support server and network infrastructure deployment and maintenance in a data center environment. This role involves installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining servers and switches, working closely with network administrators to ensure reliable and standards-compliant infrastructure operations.

Key Responsibilities

Data Center Installation & Deployment

  • Move servers and network switches to designated locations for installation.
  • Unbox, inspect, and prepare servers and switches prior to deployment.
  • Perform smoke testing to validate server functionality before installation.
  • Rack, stack, and cable servers and switches according to provided wire maps and NVIDIA standards.
  • Ensure all cabling is neatly bundled, labeled, and compliant with organizational standards.
  • Temporarily rack and cable servers or switches to allow remote access for network configuration.

Hardware Configuration & Maintenance

  • Install and replace hardware components including NICs, memory, drives, and optics.
  • Configure IP addresses and default login credentials on servers.
  • Update server firmware to the latest approved versions.
  • Audit servers, components, and consumables for inventory accuracy.

Troubleshooting & Break/Fix Support

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot server hardware issues and isolate root causes.
  • Replace defective components and coordinate RMA processes with vendors.
  • Order replacement parts and manage shipment of faulty hardware back to vendors.
  • Support network administrators by resolving server-related issues, including:
  • Replacing damaged cables
  • Re-routing cabling to different server or switch ports
  • Replacing or upgrading optics
  • Installing upgraded hardware components

Collaboration & Operations

  • Partner closely with network administrators to validate cabling, connectivity, and system readiness.
  • Assist network teams with on-demand server and switch support requests.
  • Ensure all connections are operational and validated prior to handoff.

Required Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in data center environments supporting servers and network hardware.
  • Strong understanding of server hardware components (CPU, memory, storage, NICs).
  • Experience with rack and stack , structured cabling, and cable management.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair server hardware issues.
  • Familiarity with firmware upgrades and basic server configuration.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with network and infrastructure teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in enterprise or hyperscale data centers .
  • Exposure to NVIDIA hardware standards or high-performance computing environments.
  • Basic networking knowledge related to server-to-switch connectivity.
  • Experience with inventory audits and asset management.

  • Data center setting requiring physical activity such as lifting, racking, and cabling equipment.
  • On-site role with hands-on hardware responsibilities.
  • Fast-paced, operations-focused environment supporting critical infrastructure.
