Overview
The Data Center Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering a wide range of data center initiatives, including new builds, expansions, migrations, upgrades, and decommissioning efforts. This role partners closely with cross-functional internal teams and external vendors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with all safety, security, and regulatory requirements.
This is a hybrid role requiring approximately three days per week onsite. Office and project locations may vary across the DFW area.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end delivery of data center projects, including project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
Develop and manage detailed project schedules covering design, procurement, construction, installation, commissioning, and decommissioning phases.
Create and manage project budgets, cost forecasts, and financial reporting.
Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders and cross-functional coordination, including facilities, infrastructure teams, and third-party vendors.
Ensure all projects adhere to safety, compliance, and regulatory standards.
Support capacity planning efforts and long-term data center strategy initiatives.
Travel to various facilities as required to support project needs.
5+ years of project management experience within data center or infrastructure environments.
Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, including power, cooling, racks, cabling, and networking.
Proven experience managing complex, multi-vendor projects.
Prior experience with Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools or implementations.
Ability to work efficiently and independently, applying strong analytical, troubleshooting, and organizational skills.
Working knowledge of tools such as Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, and Visio.
Ability to align technical solutions and project tasks with defined business requirements.
Strong multitasking capabilities and attention to detail.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
Willingness and ability to travel to other facilities as needed.
This team is fast-paced, collaborative, and results-driven, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality outcomes on complex and mission-critical initiatives. Team members are expected to integrate quickly into a solution-oriented environment and take ownership of their work. Due to the critical nature of the systems and services supported, occasional weekend or after-hours work may be required.
