Data Center Technician

The incumbent will serve as a Data Center Technician, providing Level 1 and Level 2 engineering and operational support for the UC Davis Health technology portfolio. This role is responsible for the design, engineering, and documentation of all physical-layer infrastructure across three data centers and approximately 330 IT closets. Responsibilities include designing and engineering structured cabling systems, developing single-line diagrams for connectivity, and maintaining accurate documentation for all deployed infrastructure.The position oversees the installation and operational support of server, storage, network, and security infrastructure, and provides design, oversight, and maintenance of the power environment, including more than 100 UPS systems, approximately 1,500 rack power distribution units (rPDUs), and battery backup systems.
