Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Racking and stacking of systems like servers in the Data Center

  • Managing of decommissioning of IT equipment

  • Assessment and solving of hardware failures

  • SAN cabling and racking of related equipment etc.

  • Server hardware and related software 3rd level support using e.g. CIMC, iDRAC, UCSM, Putty, KVM, Command, SNOW, …

  • Test, analysis and supply of new server hardware and related software

  • Escalation management to external suppliers for the area of server and memory hardware

  • Handling and solving of incidents and problems of the Data Center monitoring systems like high temperature, battery failure of UPS, …

  • Supplying training for access to Data Center facilities and issuing of master cards

  • Accompanying of third-party access to the Data Center

  • Preparing and signing the qualification of Data Centers and its reviews according to Boehringer Ingelheim SOPs

  • Participation in Disaster Recovery Tests in Ingelheim, Biberach and Vienna including its preparation and taking care of onsite activities related to it. Disaster Recovery Tests normally take place once a year per site during the weekend.

  • Responsible to make sure Data Center is in a proper state and fulfills the Data Center qualification requirements.
