Data Engineer - Databricks and Fabric

Role: Data Engineer - Databricks & Fabric
Salary: $160K - $180K Package
Contract Length: 12-month FTC
Location: Remote in Australia

We are partnering with a large, complex enterprise undergoing a major transformation of its cloud data and analytics platform. This program is focused on building a modern, secure and automated environment across Azure Databricks, Microsoft Fabric and Power BI to support compliance, network performance and enterprise reporting.

This is a hands-on role for a Data Engineer who enjoys designing, building and automating data platforms at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Designing and building data pipelines using Azure Databricks and Microsoft Fabric

• Implementing CI/CD pipelines for data and analytics workloads

• Automating build, test, deployment and rollback processes

• Enabling secure, role-based access and enterprise identity integration

• Producing Power BI-ready datasets to support regulatory and operational reporting

• Integrating AI-assisted code review into development workflows

• Creating technical documentation and supporting team enablement

About You

• Strong experience with Azure Databricks

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric or modern Azure data platforms

• CI/CD for data pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or similar)

• Solid SQL and data modelling skills

• Experience working with Power BI datasets or analytics platforms

• Understanding of DevOps, Git and environment management
