Job Description: Data Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team. You will be

responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and

architectures. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between traditional on-

premises data warehousing and modern cloud-native solutions, with a deep focus on

the Microsoft data stack.


Key Responsibilities

  • ETL/ELT Development: Design and implement robust data integration
  • workflows using SSIS for legacy systems and Microsoft Fabric (Data
  • Factory/Pipelines) for cloud integration.
  • Database Engineering: Write complex, high-performance T-SQL queries,

stored procedures, and functions. Optimize database performance through

indexing, partitioning, and execution plan analysis.

  • Modern Data Architecture: Transition and build data workloads within
  • Microsoft Fabric, leveraging OneLake, Lakehouses, and Warehouses to

support analytics.

  • Data Modelling: Develop and maintain dimensional models (Star/Snowflake

schemas).

  • Maintenance & Optimization: Monitor existing SQL Server Agent jobs,

troubleshoot pipeline failures, and ensure data integrity across Production

(PRD) and Test (TST) environments.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross functional teams to translate business

requirements into technical specifications.


Technical Qualifications

Core Requirements

  • Expert T-SQL: Mastery of DML/DDL, window functions, and performance

tuning within Microsoft SQL Server.

  • SSIS Proficiency: Extensive experience building, deploying, and managing
  • SQL Server Integration Services packages.
  • Microsoft Fabric: Hands-on experience with the Fabric ecosystem,

specifically Data Factory, Synapse Data Engineering, and the Medallion

  • Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold layers).


Preferred Skills

  • Cloud Data Warehousing: Experience with Azure Data Factory or Fabric.
  • DevOps: Familiarity with TFS/Git version control and CI/CD pipelines for

database deployments.

  • Big Data: Knowledge of Spark (PySpark/SQL) within a Fabric.


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related

field.

  • 4+ years of experience in data engineering.
