Senior Data Engineer

Summary

As a member of the Connected Health software development team, the Senior Data Engineer is responsible for developing curated data models and reporting solutions for the mymobility/ ZBEdge platform. This includes responsibility for analyzing, designing and transforming medical data to disseminate key metrics and performance indicators. The ideal candidate for this role will be adept at understanding and developing sophisticated T-SQL logic, performing transformations into a Power BI data model and visually representing that data through compelling Power BI reporting solutions. This is a hands-on technical role that requires familiarity with SDLC lifecycle processes and tools. Hands-on experience with SQL Server, Power BI, Git and Jira is highly desirable. The individual selected will be expected to do whatever it takes to meet aggressive timelines while often juggling multiple deliverables.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Analyze raw data and transform it into complex data models that support the business

• Design, build and maintain compelling reports in Power BI

• Align data architecture with business requirements

• Manage the movement and transformation of data over data pipelines

• Identify ways to continuously improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality

• Where applicable, apply “big data” solutions to solve current business problems

Expected Areas of Competence (i.e., knowledge, skills and abilities)

• Strong technical aptitude and experience with Azure SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, T-SQL and Power BI

• Accuracy, attention to detail and timely follow-through are critical in this role.

• Demonstrate strong technical aptitude with regards to data and database technologies.

• Proven ability to work under pressure and successfully handle multiple priorities while promoting a friendly and engaging work environment.

• Ability to handle a situationally (i.e. during release cycles) high work load and continue to drive positive departmental KPIs.

• Good problem solving and data visualization skills.

• Ability to cross-functionally collaborate within the Connected Health team as well as across business units.

Education/Experience Requirements

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field is required.

• Minimum of 7 years professional experience is preferred.
