Data Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data architectures and pipelines that power business insights across our EdTech platform. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in data engineering, cloud data platforms, BI tools , and data governance , along with the ability to work cross-functionally to support data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure data architectures to support analytical and operational needs.
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to process large volumes of structured and unstructured data efficiently.
• Manage and optimize data workflows using tools such as Apache Airflow, Kafka, Spark , and cloud-native services.
• Build and maintain data warehouses and data lakes on platforms like Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery .
• Work with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for data storage, processing, and analytics.
• Collaborate with data analysts and business stakeholders to deliver Power BI dashboards and complex data models that drive actionable insights.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance through effective data governance and documentation practices .
• Lead and manage multiple data initiatives simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices in data engineering and architecture.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 4–9 years of hands-on experience in data architecture, engineering, or related roles .
• Strong expertise in ETL/ELT design , big data frameworks , and modern data pipelines .
• Proficiency in SQL and exposure to NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB).
• Experience with BI and analytics tools , preferably Power BI (experience in Tableau or Looker is a plus).
• Strong understanding of data governance , security , and data lifecycle management .
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects , prioritize effectively, and deliver results under tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data concepts into clear insights for non-technical stakeholders.
• Domain experience in EdTech or familiarity with learning data, student analytics, or educational platforms is a strong plus.
