We have an opening for a 4-month contract Data Engineer position based out of our Houston, TX location. Reporting to the Digitization Manager, the Data Engineer will work with the data team to modernize our data infrastructure. Specifically, they will build and optimize pipelines in Microsoft Fabric, ensuring efficient data processing and management. The ideal candidate will have expertise in handling large-scale data systems and optimizing workflows. Responsibilities also include: 

  • Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines using modern tools and frameworks.




  • Implement data transformation processes to ensure efficient storage and retrieval.




  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and optimize data architecture.




  • Utilize T-SQL and PySpark to process and analyze large datasets.




  • Manage and monitor data workflows, ensuring high performance and reliability.




  • Integrate and maintain ETL processes to streamline data operations.




  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data systems and workflows.

  • The successful candidate will have a strong data architecture background with mastery of medallion/lakehouse, data warehouse, data fabric, and MDM frameworks. They will be an expert in PySpark, T-SQL, scalable ETL/ELT, and distributed processing for high-volume structured and semi-structured data, with the proven capability in solution design, optimization, performance tuning, and building reusable data engineering frameworks. They will require previous hands-on experience implementing Azure Dev ops, governance, security, lineage, and modeling standards across enterprise platforms, and proven capability in solution design, optimization, performance tuning, and building reusable data engineering frameworks. Excellent verbal and written communication, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team is a prerequisite for this role. ​USA Quality ManagerWe have an opening for a US Quality Manager based out of Houston, TX. The US Quality Manager is a senior role responsible for implementing, maintaining, and continually improving the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with API Specification Q2 and applicable customer/regulatory requirements. Reporting to the Global QHSE Manager & Compliance Officer, the Quality Manager directs quality governance across service delivery, with a strong focus on Service Quality Plans (SQPs), risk-based thinking, management of change, supplier quality, corrective & preventive actions, and a robust audit program. Working knowledge of DS-1 is required to ensure inspection, traceability, and integrity controls for drilling tools and components.​Responsibilities also include:

  • Own the day-to-day leadership of the QMS aligned to API Spec Q2, ensuring requirements are translated into practical, repeatable processes across business operations.




  • Maintain QMS documentation and record controls (manuals, procedures, work instructions, forms, registers), ensuring document integrity, accessibility, and compliance.




  • Ensure QMS processes support service delivery realities (field operations, equipment maintenance cycles, reliability, mobilization/demobilization, and customer-specific requirements).




  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Service Quality Plans for directional drilling services, aligned with API Q2 and customer requirements.




  • Ensure SQPs define quality-critical activities, responsibilities, controls, acceptance criteria, hold points, verification steps, and required records.




  • Coordinate SQP readiness for job start-up, including risk reviews, contingency planning, and required competency verification.




  • Ensure inspection, maintenance, and verification processes align with DS-1 requirements where applicable (e.g., inspection criteria, acceptance/rejection, documentation, traceability).




  • Partner with Operations, Reliability, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to ensure inspection planning, vendor capability, calibration, and control of inspection records.




  • Own and continuously improve the Management of Change process for quality-related changes impacting service delivery, equipment, suppliers, procedures, inspection methods, and customer requirements.




  • Ensure quality and operational changes are risk-assessed using appropriate methods (e.g., job risk reviews, process FMEAs), authorized, communicated, trained, and verified for effectiveness post-implementation, with risks identified early, controls implemented, and residual risks documented, understood, and reviewed.




  • Support contingency planning and lessons learned deployment across regions/bases.




  • Lead the nonconformance system for service, product/tooling, process, and supplier issues.




  • Drive strong problem-solving discipline using recognized methodologies.




  • Ensure corrective actions are effective, verified, implemented on time, and translated into systemic learning.




  • Develop and execute an internal audit program aligned to API Q2 and business needs; plan audits across operations, bases, and critical suppliers.




  • Lead external audit readiness and serve as the primary interface with auditors and customers as needed; track audit findings, CPAs, and compliance commitments, and report status and risk.




  • Define and implement supplier quality expectations for critical services (e.g., inspection vendors, machining, repair, coating, NDT), conduct supplier assessments and performance reviews, and drive improvements and risk controls for outsourced processes.




  • Define quality competency requirements supporting API Q2 expectations.




  • Ensure training programs, records, and competency verification are effective and audit-ready.




  • Promote a strong quality culture: “right first time,” stop-work/stop-job authority for quality-critical issues, and consistent field execution.




  • Lead customer quality engagement, overseeing complaint management and response closure while driving customer quality reviews and performance discussions through clear, data-driven insights.




  • Monitor and report quality KPIs (service quality, rework, tool failures, NCRs, audit results, SQP compliance), identifying trends and improvement opportunities.




  • Collaborate with HSE to align investigation and learning processes (e.g., incident investigation rigor, risk assessments, contractor controls) and support an integrated QHSE approach.


  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Operations Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)




  • 8+ years of quality experience in oilfield services or a closely related industrial service environment, including leadership-level responsibility




  • Demonstrated experience implementing and maintaining a QMS aligned to API Spec Q2 in a service delivery setting




  • Strong experience developing and executing Service Quality Plans (SQPs)




  • Working knowledge and practical application of DS-1 requirements and inspection governance




  • Proven ability leading change management / MOC across operations




  • Strong audit capability (internal audits and supporting external/customer audits)




  • Excellent communication, coaching, and cross-functional leadership skills




  • HSE background or strong working experience partnering with HSE teams




  • Certifications (ASQ CQE/CQA, ISO Lead Auditor, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent) an asset




  • Experience with QMS software platforms and data-driven performance management


  • ​Technical Marketing RepresentativeThe Technical Marketing Representative is accountable for selling directional drilling services to the domestic oil and gas industry for the purpose of maximizing the Company’s market share and profitability. The incumbent meets the accountabilities of this position, in part, by working closely with department Engineers and Planners. Specific Accountabilities (not all-inclusive)

  • Participate as a member of the domestic Sales team to meet the goals of the annual sales/marketing plan.




  • Maintain an ongoing awareness of marketplace developments to identify prospects for future sales and provide relevant information during the Sales department’s group discussions and determinations.




  • Participate in the development of our client directory and systematically work with assigned contacts to generate sales through existing and potential clients.




  • Ensure all technical information being sent to clients, such as planning and end-of-well reports, are accurate and complete.




  • Strive to continuously increase customer satisfaction and identify opportunities to improve service quality by searching out and acting upon customer needs or concerns, discussing solutions as required.

  • This candidate will have a minimum of 5 years Oil & Gas in the NER, preferably in directional drilling. They will require strong verbal and written communication skills & a familiarity with conventional computer software programs. ​​​​​​MWD OperatorWe are seeking motivated, dynamic, and team-oriented individuals to fill the role of Measurement While Drilling (MWD) Operator. All applicants must have strong communication, organization and problem solving skills, attention to detail, and willingness to work in a rig environment. The MWD Operator is accountable for providing real-time survey data for carrying out directional and horizontal drilling operations. They must exercise judgment to determine the appropriate action at the well site by relying upon hands-on and classroom-based training of standard principles, theories, concepts, and techniques. Responsibilities also include:

  • Prepare tools for the field. This includes a full function test in the shop of the downhole and surface gear, an inventory of kit tools, and proper packing and securing of kit tools for travel.




  • Set up primary string, back-up string, rig equipment, and surface gear once tools arrive on location.




  • Install MWD/LWD system into drill string, set tool face offset or orienting sub, surface test tools, and survey while running in the hole. This also includes recording downhole measurements related to drilling with tools, sliding, rotating, calculating battery usage and surveying at the end of a kelly, filling out run reports and survey sheets, and troubleshooting the tool in the hole.




  • Complete rig out and prepare tools for shipping to operations, including the cleaning and packing of tools into kit boxes, preparing necessary run reports and end of well reports, and forwarding any reports to the Directional Driller for job folder.




  • Participate in the servicing of tools in the shop by informing the shop staff of any concerns or problems, turning in run reports, and entering information into the MWD databases.




  • Attend, complete, and successfully pass all training courses as required.




  • Interact with customers and other Phoenix personnel in a positive, problem-solving manner.




  • Carry out duties according to established Phoenix health and safety program, including those relating to Company rules, hazard reporting, use and care of tools, safe work practices, use of P.P.E. and accident reporting. When on site follows the health and safety program of the owner or prime contractor.


  • The successful candidates must have a valid driver’s license. Completion of a technical program is preferred, or military veterans with honorable discharge. Classroom and in-field training will be provided to successful candidates without previous rig experience. You must be eligible to work in USA to apply. ​Directional DrillersWe are seeking experienced, motivated, dynamic, team-oriented Directional Drillers for work across the USA. Directional Drillers are accountable for providing the customer with the tools, equipment and expertise required to meet the directional and horizontal drilling objectives. Responsibilities also include:

  • Complete all pre-job equipment checks and communications requirements.




  • Perform field location preparation work including equipment checks, document completion and communications with rig personnel and MWD Operators.




  • Set up, direct, monitor, and trouble-shoot directional or horizontal drilling operations and related activities.




  • Perform completions work including removal, packing and shipping of tools, communications with rig personnel and operations office, and post-job clean up.




  • Deal with customer personnel and other Phoenix personnel in a positive problem-solving manner.




  • Carry out duties according to established Phoenix health and safety program, including those relating to Company rules, hazard reporting, use and care of tools, safe work practices, use of PPE, and accident reporting. When on site follows the health and safety program of the owner or prime contractor.




  • Complete required field paperwork.




  • Keep Phoenix office informed of progress of well.




  • Conform to Phoenix Drug & Alcohol Policy.






  • The successful candidates must have a valid driver’s license and valid certificates in H2S Alive where applicable. Previous rig experience as a Directional Driller and/or a minimum of 3 years of experience as an MWD Operator is a requirement. ​
