Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Governance Consultant with 5+ years of experience to lead and orchestrate the assessment of our current data governance landscape, recommend a future-state operating model, and define a practical bridge to achieve it. The ideal candidate is a recognized expert in data governance frameworks and operating models, with deep experience in the insurance industry, and a proven track record of designing and implementing robust Data Governance programs.

This role requires an individual who can facilitate discussions across business and technical stakeholders, guide the implementation of DG solutions, and ensure alignment with enterprise objectives. Expertise in Alation and the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is highly desired.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess current data governance frameworks, policies, and processes across the organization.
• Define and recommend a future-state Data Governance operating model aligned with business objectives and industry best practices.
• Develop a roadmap and bridging strategy to transition from current-state to future-state DG capabilities.
• Lead and facilitate discussions with stakeholders, including business leaders, IT, and data management teams, ensuring alignment and consensus.
• Guide implementation of Data Governance, Master Data Management, and Reference Data Management solutions for insurance carriers.
• Provide hands-on expertise with Alation for data cataloging, stewardship, and metadata management.
• Leverage Google Cloud Platform capabilities for data governance, data catalog, and cloud-based data management solutions.
• Modern Data Governance experience with a focus on AI-led initiatives and opportunities to leverage Agentic and Generative AI capabilities.

Must Haves:

• 5+ years of Data Governance experience
• Strong knowledge of DG frameworks & operating models
• Experience in insurance domain
• Current-state assessment → future-state design → roadmap creation
• Hands-on experience with DG, MDM, RDM implementations
• Strong stakeholder management & facilitation skills

Good to have:

• Alation (data catalog, metadata, stewardship)
• Google Cloud Platform (GCP) data governance experience
• Modern / AI-led Data Governance exposure
• Experience with GenAI / Agentic AI use cases

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
