As a Data Governance & Quality Engineer , you will deploy and operationalize governance frameworks that ensure data accuracy, discoverability, and secure access across the organization.
Location: Providencia, Guadalajara, Mexico
Language: Bilingual (English & Spanish)
Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work and currently residing in Mexico.
Schedule: Full‑Time | U.S. Eastern Time
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and manage Microsoft Purview (or equivalent) for cataloging, lineage tracking, data classification, and access policies
- Define and operationalize data quality metrics and scorecards for completeness, validity, and timeliness, with automated alerts and remediation processes
- Establish clear data ownership, stewardship roles, and SLA standards for data products
- Support RBAC implementation, privacy‑by‑design practices, and compliance audits
- Collaborate with BI teams to maintain certified content and consistent KPI definitions across business domains
Key Outcomes
- Live data catalog and lineage for priority domains with published glossary and stewards
- Automated DQ scorecards integrated into data pipelines and monitoring dashboards
- Standardized access policies, governance processes, and reporting frameworks
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data governance and quality engineering
- Hands‑on expertise with Microsoft Purview or similar catalog/lineage platforms
- Strong understanding of metadata management, lineage, and data contracts
- Proven experience implementing DQ frameworks and governance scorecards
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
